Description
Popper’s tobacco cigar cigarette lithographed tin by E. Popper& Co New York. Made in Factory 1488 1st District Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The tin is Manufactured by Liberty Can Company Lancaster, PA. The biplane featured on the tin is reminiscent of the British SPAD, Sopwith Camel and Sopwith Pup. The wing is marked with the WWI (World War One) Royal Air Force roundel. The District 50 Tax Stamp is intact and says Class C Cigars Act of 1917 Series of 1917. One side has a window that says "The Cigars herein contained were manufactured to retail at more than Eight Cents each and Not More Than Fifteen Cents Each And Are So Tax Paid'!! There's a biplane on the top of the can and on two sides. There's a lot gong on with the tin. Email questions. I've included 12 pictures for your inspection. Dimensions are 5 1/2" tall X 5" X 5".
